Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management with Education and Training integrated with QTLS Qualification

The Level 7  in Management is a cross-sector qualification. This means that this qualification will be taken by people who are responsible for the control of activities and work output of other managers across a wide variety of areas, including NHS trusts, educational institutions, government departments and the private sector. Level 7 learners can expect to be working in a management and leadership role.

This Teaching Diploma (DTLLS) is suitable for people who work in a variety of learning and development environments, particularly colleges, universities, training providers and schools integrated with teaching qualification.

Type: Teaching Qualification DTTLS with City & Guilds  and Postgraduate Diploma QCF Level 7 Awarding Body ABP (Association of Business Practitioners)/ABE

Duration: 18 Months to 2 Years
Fees:

  • UK Students: £3,500 per annum
  • International Students: £6500 per annum

Entry Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree from a recognised University in relevant discipline
  • Higher National Diploma from a recognised body with relevant experience
  • Learner should have Level 3 skills in the subject you intend to teach, though a qualification is optional.
  • International qualification Bachelors Degree or Higher Diploma with CEFR B2 Level ESOL/IELTS
ESOL International Diploma (City & Guilds)  Progression

Students will be offered pre-sessional ESOL international diploma progression to Diploma in Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or Graduate Diploma in Education and Training as a specialised teaching unit.

 

Teaching Qualifications

Course Content: Learners are required to have complete 10 mandatory and 2 from optional units

Upon completion of all 10 mandatory units and 5 mandatory units of the ABP / ABE business management level 7 course and 2 optional units, students will be awarded the PGD in Business Management.

Pathway Specialist Teaching Optional Modules Level 7 qualifications

Students may select any of the specialist modules depending on their background as a specialist qualification. The college offers Teaching Training with specialising modules Accountancy, Business Administration, Business Law, Fashion, Information Technology, Interactive Media Studies or Teacher Training.

Progression

Completion of the DTLLS will allow learner to qualify for Qualified Teacher Status (QTLS).

The Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector could help the learner progress in a role as a: lull teacher in further, adult and community education, for example, as a further education lecturer lull teacher in work-based learning – full teacher in the voluntary sector. This Diploma qualifies the learner for Qualified Teacher and Learning and Skills (QTLS) status. To gain full QTLS status, the next step after taking this qualification is to go through the process of professional formation with the Institute for learning (IFL).

Once the learners have achieved QTLS status, learners can meet their continuing professional development (CPD) requirement through an Award in Developing Embedded Approaches to Literacy, Language and Numeracy. If the learner decides to specialise in teaching Mathematics or English after taking the D I LLS qualification, the learner could progress on to an Additional Diploma:

  • Additional Diploma in leaching Mathematics (Numeracy) in the Lifelong Learning Sector
  • Additional Diploma in Teaching English (Literacy) in the Lifelong Learning Sector
  • Additional Diploma in Teaching English (ESOL) in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

After the Post Graduate Diploma you have two choices. You can enter the workplace/teaching with a highly valued post graduate level qualification, or you can join the latter stages of Master and MBA degrees at universities around the world. Many universities recognise the Post Graduate Diploma as equivalent to half or more of their Master and MBA degrees.
