Please note the college welcomes applicants who have taken subjects like General Studies or Critical Thinking at AS/A-level, and also Key Skills at level 3/4, the Free-standing Mathematics qualifications or Higher Sports Leader Awards (or other similar qualifications). These may be included in any tariff score specified by individual courses. You can combine points from different qualifications so long as they are not in the same subject.

International Students:

All international students are required to have a minimum of B1 or B2 level of English as per the CEFR. The new UKBA rules which have come into effect from 21st April 2011 for English Language requirements.

Fees:

  • UK Students: £2,950 per annum

School of Legal Studies

Objective of this Qualification

This is a cross-sector qualification. Overseas lawyers may be able to use this qualification to gain exemption from the conversion course (Law Society and Bar Council – Subject to Approval) or alternatively use this qualification to practice as Para legal in place of a training contract. Student may also progress to level 7 masters diploma in legal practice or final year of law degree or LLM.

BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Business (Law)

Level QCF 5 Start Date: September 2012 Duration: 2 Years Mode: Full-Time (36 – 40 weeks per academic year) Fees:

  • UK Students £2950 per annum
  • International Students £4,500 per annum

  • 4 GCSEs with 2 GCE A Level
  • Level 4 Qualification or any associate diplomas in engineering or IT
  • Overseas qualification Higher School leaving certificate (intermediate) or equivalent
  • Mature students over the age of 21 with no formal qualification but experience and another qualifications may be admitted at the digression of the admission tutor

Progression Route:
On the completion of B-Tec HND student may progress to final year to University for BA/BSc/LLB Degree at one of the recognised universities or alternatively student can proceed to the Postgraduate Masters Diploma.

Professional Courses Part Time Distance and E-Learning

Study to be a property lawyer (Licensed Conveyancer)

A licensed conveyancer is a specialist property lawyer qualified in all aspects of property law in England and Wales. A licensed conveyancer is also a Commissioner of Oaths and an increasing number offer additional services such as probate. There are two ways to study – you can follow our distance learning programme from home or study part-time or full-time at the School of Legal Studies.

The course combines fast-paced learning with practical training. Students complete a minimum of two years full time conveyacing experience, in addition to submitting written assignments and sitting examinations related to all aspects of property law.

The shortest time you can complete the qualification is one year full time or two years part time, although most students will spend three to four years completing their studies while working in the conveyancing industry. There is a time limit of seven years for completion of the course.
